Hanoi: Bhutanese Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck and Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, spouse of State President Luong Cuong, paid a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda in Hanoi on August 19 to offer incense and discover the nearly 1,500-year-old spiritual landmark. King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck of Bhutan are on a state visit to Vietnam from August 18 to 22.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda, which is renowned for its historical and cultural significance, was a part of the state visit aimed at strengthening the ties between Bhutan and Vietnam. The pagoda, located on the eastern shore of Hanoi’s West Lake, is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Vietnam and a symbol of the country’s rich heritage.
The Bhutanese royal couple’s visit to Vietnam is expected to enhance diplomatic relations and explore opportunities for cooperation between the two nations. During their stay, they are scheduled to engage in various official meetings and cultural exchanges.
