Private Healthcare Sector Urged to Focus on Quality, Advanced Care

Ho chi minh city: Vietnam's private healthcare sector should prioritize quality, advanced medical techniques, and innovation over merely increasing the number of hospitals. This was emphasized at a forum in Ho Chi Minh City on August 20. The forum highlighted the importance of enhancing research capabilities, embracing digital transformation, and upholding social responsibility within the sector.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the second edition of the Forum on Vietnam Private Healthcare Development 2026 was organized by the Vietnam Private Hospitals Association (VPHA). Nguyen Van De, Chairman of the VPHA, noted that Vietnam currently hosts nearly 450 private hospitals and more than 50,000 private clinics. Additionally, tens of thousands of doctors and technicians are employed in the private healthcare sector, underscoring the significant role it plays in the nation's healthcare system. The forum underscored that the focus should be on improving the quality of services and adopting innovative practices to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the population.
