Quang Ninh Ready for Rescue Operations in Ha Long Bay in Case of Emergencies

Quang ninh: In order to enhance safety for tourists visiting and staying overnight in Ha Long Bay – a UNESCO-recognised natural heritage, the Military Command of Quang Ninh province has deployed a ship designated to medical services and two patrol boats to conduct patrols on the bay around the clock, starting August 6. Specifically, the ships will carry out patrols from 7am to 6pm daily along the main tourist routes in Ha Long Bay, with one ship permanently stationed at Ti Top island. From 6pm to 7am the following day, the mobile vessels return to Tuan Chau island to maintain a 24/7 on-call duty shift, ensuring constant readiness. This move is aimed at ensuring the safety of sightseeing boats and reinforcing tourists’ confidence.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the implementation of these patrols is part of a broader initiative to improve the safety and security measures in Ha Long Bay. The continuous presence of rescue and medical ships is expected to significantly reduce response times in emergencies. The Military Command’s decision comes as a proactive approach to address potential risks and ensure that tourists can enjoy their visits with peace of mind.

The new patrol system highlights the commitment of Quang Ninh province to secure one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist destinations. The authorities believe that this initiative will not only enhance the safety of tourists but also improve the overall experience of those visiting the bay. By stationing patrol boats and maintaining a dedicated medical service ship, the province aims to be well-prepared for any emergencies that may arise in the bay area.
