Quang tri: As prolonged heavy rains in recent days have caused numerous landslides and flooding along national highways, provincial and inter-village roads in the central province of Quang Tri, local authorities and relevant forces are working to clear the routes to ensure safe travel for residents. As of 6:00 on November 4, the province had recorded 18 flooded locations, with water levels ranging from 0.2 to 1 metre. In addition, there are currently 51 landslide locations across the province. Authorities have deployed personnel and equipment to the scenes, placed warning signs to prevent people and vehicles from passing through, and redirect traffic to safe routes. Also as of 6:00 on November 4, a total of 5,167 households with 15,637 residents had been affected by flooding, including 198 households with 850 people isolated by high water. Meanwhile, 103 schools with 28,513 students have had to temporarily suspend classes.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the situation has prompted a swift response from the authorities, who have prioritized the safety of residents and the restoration of transportation routes. Efforts are underway to manage the impact on the affected households and ensure that essential services are maintained. The deployment of personnel and equipment aims to expedite the clearing of roads and provide necessary assistance to isolated communities. The suspension of classes has affected a significant number of students, with local education authorities coordinating with emergency services to evaluate when it is safe to resume schooling.
