Quang Tri Receives Rare Pangolin from Local Resident

Quang tri: The People's Committee of Hieu Giang commune in Quang Tri province announced on April 24 that they had coordinated with relevant agencies to receive a rare pangolin voluntarily handed over by a local resident. The pangolin weighed around 3 kg and is classified under Group IB, which is designated for endangered, precious, and rare species prioritized for protection under Vietnamese law.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the local resident's decision to hand over the pangolin reflects an increasing awareness about wildlife conservation within the community. The authorities expressed appreciation for the resident's action and emphasized the importance of protecting endangered species. The pangolin will be transferred to a suitable conservation center to ensure its safety and care.
