Moscow: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has proposed that Russia and Vietnam expand cooperation in new and promising areas to create fresh momentum for sustainable bilateral growth. At a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi on August 26, Chernyshenko affirmed that Vietnam is one of Russia's leading partners in Southeast Asia.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on identifying potential sectors where both countries could collaborate further. Chernyshenko emphasized the importance of diversifying the existing cooperation framework and exploring untapped opportunities that could benefit both nations economically and strategically.

The discussion underscored the strategic importance of Vietnam to Russia within the Southeast Asian region. Both parties expressed a mutual interest in exploring sectors such as technology, energy, and education, aiming to strengthen their bilateral relations beyond traditional areas of cooperation.
