Ho chi minh city: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the pivotal role of science and technology in Vietnam’s journey to become a developed, industrialized nation by 2045, during a World Economic Forum (WEF) session held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 26. In a ’60 Minutes with the Prime Minister’ dialogue with WEF Managing Director Stephan Mergenthaler at the 2025 Autumn Economic Forum, PM Chinh highlighted the nation’s strategic focus and determination.
According to Vietnam News Agency, PM Chinh asserted that Vietnam has successfully navigated past challenges through the leadership of the Party, national unity, and the resilience of its people and businesses. He credited the nation’s progress to a strategic blend of domestic strengths and global trends, underpinned by a steadfast policy of independence, self-reliance, and the pursuit of socialism. The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore the importance the government places on leveraging scientific and technological advancements to achieve its development goals.
