Da nang: The National Assembly and Government will continue reviewing and amending laws while accelerating decentralisation alongside stronger supervision to empower local initiative, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Tran Cam Tu said on May 5. At a meeting with voters from Hai Chau, An Khe, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, An Hai, and Hoa Cuong wards in the central city of Da Nang, Tu stressed that for growth centres like Da Nang, the Party Central Committee will refine special mechanisms in line with the Politburo's resolution on the city's development to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the focus of the meeting was on ensuring that decentralisation efforts are accompanied by stringent oversight measures to allow local governments to exercise greater autonomy while maintaining accountability. Tran Cam Tu emphasized the importance of aligning local initiatives with national development goals, ensuring that cities like Da Nang can contribute effectively to the country's overall progress.
The discussions indicated that the Party Central Committee is committed to fostering an environment where local authorities can take proactive steps towards development but with a framework that ensures these steps are in harmony with the broader national strategy. This approach is expected to facilitate more tailored solutions to local challenges and opportunities, thereby enhancing growth and development in key areas.
