Singapore Opens Market to Some Vietnamese Poultry Meat, Eggs

Hanoi: Singapore has officially approved the import of selected poultry meat and egg products from Vietnam, said Vietnamese Trade Counselor in the city-state Cao Xuan Thang. The approved products include heat-processed poultry meat from CPV Food Co. Ltd and MeatDeli HN Co. Ltd, as well as canned and sterilised poultry eggs and meat (excluding beef). These companies have met the stringent standards set by the SFA, covering food safety, traceability, and operational protocols.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this approval marks a significant development in the trade relations between Singapore and Vietnam, potentially opening new markets for Vietnamese producers. The decision comes after rigorous assessments and inspections conducted to ensure compliance with Singapore’s regulations on imported food products. The SFA’s approval is expected to strengthen the presence of Vietnamese poultry products in Singapore, a market known for its high standards for imported food items.

The move is seen as a boost for Vietnamese exporters, who have been seeking to diversify their markets. By gaining access to Singapore, these companies can now explore further opportunities within the region. The approval could also encourage other Vietnamese companies to enhance their production processes to meet international standards, thus expanding their export potential.
