Hanoi: State President Luong Cuong received the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation from Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 15. The Russian Prime Minister also presented the Friendship Order to leaders and former leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam – Russia Tropical Center.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the ceremony highlighted the strengthening cooperation and longstanding relationship between Vietnam and Russia. The Order of Friendship is one of the highest honors awarded to foreign nationals by the Russian Federation. It recognizes significant contributions to fostering friendly relations and cooperation with Russia.

The event was attended by various dignitaries and officials representing both countries. The recipients of the Friendship Order, including leaders from the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam – Russia Tropical Center, were acknowledged for their roles in enhancing bilateral ties. The Vietnam – Russia Tropical Center, established as a symbol of scientific collaboration, continues to play a key role in joint research initiatives.
