Surin, Students post to expose! Drunk teacher driving pickup truck taking students back from candle festival, lost control, crashed into curve, dozens of children injured.

Reporters reported at 12:30 p.m. yesterday (July 19, 2014) that a Facebook post stated, ‘A school organized an activity for children to carry candles for the start of Buddhist Lent. There was a teacher who was drunk when they arrived at the temple. It is unknown where he had been drinking. On the way back, the students got into the back of a pickup truck to go back to school, driven by the drunk teacher. An accident occurred when the car skidded off the curve and overturned. Many children were injured.’

After the post was published, many Facebook users shared the post and expressed their opinions. From initial investigations, it was discovered that the incident occurred with a group of students from a school in Prasat District, Surin Province. The student who posted the post also commented that the teacher driving the car, instead of rus
hing to see the injured student, sat in the front of the car and watched the situation.

The owner of the post also stated that many teachers have messaged him to delete the post, while many netizens have expressed their opinions, wishing all students safety and asking for the driver to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

The rescuers who rushed to the scene reported that the incident occurred on July 19, 2024 at 2:50 p.m. There was a pickup truck accident where the vehicle lost control and overturned on the side of the road on the Ban Chob Kok-Klong Road at a curve in Village No. 5, Khok Yang Subdistrict, Prasat District, Surin Province. Rescue volunteers went to inspect the scene and found a total of 17 injured people, all conscious and sent to the hospital for treatment. Of the 17 injured people, 2 were red, 3 were yellow, and 10 were green.
