Ho Chi Minh City: The domestic passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat Airport is scheduled to be inaugurated on April 30 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, according to the airport. Designed to handle 20 million passengers per year, the T3 project comprises four main components: the passenger terminal, a multi-story parking facility integrated with non-aviation services, the terminal frontage elevated road system, and aircraft aprons, with a total investment of nearly 11 trillion VND (431.2 million USD). Construction started in December 2022.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the development of the new terminal is a significant milestone for Tan Son Nhat Airport, which is one of the busiest airports in the region. The new terminal aims to alleviate congestion and improve the overall efficiency of passenger handling at the airport. The terminal is expected to enhance the airport’s capacity to meet the growing demand for air travel in the region.

The
multi-story parking facility will accommodate a significant number of vehicles, supporting the anticipated increase in passenger traffic. The integration of non-aviation services within the parking facility is expected to provide additional convenience to travelers. The terminal frontage elevated road system is designed to streamline vehicle movement, ensuring smooth access to the terminal for passengers and transport services.

The aircraft aprons included in the T3 project will support the operations of various airlines, facilitating efficient aircraft parking and maintenance. The entire project reflects a strategic investment aimed at boosting the airport’s infrastructure and service capabilities, aligning with the broader goals of enhancing connectivity and economic development in the region.
