Technology and Talent to Propel Vietnam’s Digital Leap Forward: Forum Highlights

Hanoi: Technology and human capital must go hand in hand if Vietnam is to achieve a successful digital transformation and build a smart nation, participants heard at the Vietnam Global Innovation Connect (VGIC) 2026, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 29. Held under the theme 'Future Tech - Vietnam's Digital Leap,' the two-day forum is organised by France-based AVSE Global, the Ho Chi Minh City Startup and Innovation Hub (SIHUB), the Global On-Chain Economy (GOE) Alliance, and the Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF). The event brought together around 100 Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese innovators, including leading scientists, technology executives and researchers working at major global technology companies, research institutes and universities.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the VGIC 2026 event underscored the critical role of integrating technology with a skilled workforce to propel Vietnam towards its digital future. Key discussions revolved around leveraging Vietnam's growing human capital to meet the demands of an increasingly digital economy. Participants emphasized the importance of fostering a robust ecosystem that supports innovation and talent development, crucial for Vietnam to gain a competitive edge globally.

The forum also provided a platform for networking and collaboration among innovators, aiming to bridge the gap between Vietnamese talent and global technological advancements. The event's focus on future tech highlighted the need for Vietnam to embrace emerging technologies and cultivate a workforce that can support and sustain these advancements.
