The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation sent a search and rescue team from USAR Thailand to join the operation in the tunnel collapse incident.

Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department sends USAR Thailand search and rescue team to join forces in the operation of the tunnel collapse in Korat.

In the case of the tunnel collapse of the high-speed rail construction project at Khlong Khanan Chit Railway Station, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, which the incident occurred approximately 3-4 kilometers from the tunnel entrance, resulting in 3 missing persons, 2 Chinese and 1 Myanmar. Initially, the company brought in machinery to clear the area to make way for local rescue workers to search and help the missing persons.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, through the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, Region 5, Nakhon Ratchasima and the Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, have supported the search and rescue operation for victims together with relevant agencies. Currently, officers from the National Urban Search and Rescue Team, or USAR Thailand, have been sent along with
special search and rescue equipment, such as the Life Detector, a survivor signal detector, and the Search Camera, a survivor search device under collapsed buildings, which have already departed to join the search operation in the aforementioned incident.
