Mr. Pichai Chunhuachir Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance said during the presentation of the Vayupak Award that the Ministry of Finance has a policy to use the IFF Infrastructure Fund (IFF) by raising funds from the retail public and institutional investors to use the IFF fund to take care of the BTS fares. This caused the government to pocket to compensate for the reduced fare. It is estimated that the money from the IFF fund will be used to take care of no more than 300 billion baht. Meanwhile, the IFF must evaluate how to receive appropriate returns from the management of the project. By studying the group of investors who are interested and investing in what way, either holding investment units of the fund or lending with different returns, then using the number of passengers on various MRT routes to evaluate the project and see how many more passengers wi ll be available throughout the concession period, starting from the first 10 years. If the fare is charged at 20 baht, what will be the effect, and then gradually evaluate in the long term to study the use of money from the IFF fund to take care of the fare. Mr. Pichai added that the use of the IFF fund as a large fund requires careful study of many aspects. It is expected that it will not take long to draw a conclusion on the overall structure.
