The national police chief has ordered the ‘The Icon Group’ case to urgently collect evidence in all dimensions and coordinate with the Anti-Money Laundering Office to inspect assets. Progress has shown that there are 630 victims with damages totaling more than 228 million baht. Preparations are being made to search the company for additional evidence. The victims are advised to file additional complaints at any location nationwide.
Pol. Gen. Kittiratt Panphet, national police chief, revealed the progress of the THE iCON GROUP case, an online business and health supplement product company, that the case has been progressing continuously. Since the opening of the complaint center at the Central Investigation Bureau, between October 10-12, 2024, 630 victims have filed complaints, with damages of more than 228 million baht. The case has been assigned to Pol. Lt. Gen. Akkaradech Pimolsri, assistant to the national police chief, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Jiraphop Phuridet, commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, wi
th Pol. Maj. Gen. Sophon Saraphat, deputy commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, overseeing the investigation, Pol. Maj. Gen. Suwat Saengnum, deputy commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, overseeing the investigation, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Witthaya Sriprasertphap, commander of the Consumer Protection Police Division, as the primary responsible person.
Progress in the case yesterday (12 October), the Central Investigation Police searched 9 THE iCON GROUP companies in the Bangkok and surrounding areas, seizing many important documents and evidence for examination, which are useful for the content of the case. They questioned Mr. Woraratpol or Boss Paul and questioned 4 actors: Mr. Yuranunt or Sam, Ms. Peachya or Min, Mr. Thanon or Dr. Ek, and Mr. Klod or Peter. They have already questioned 8 people from the main network, but have not yet pressed charges against anyone. Mr. Kant, another actor, will be questioned today. In the afternoon, the Central Investigation Police will also go to inspect addi
tional company information to find evidence to support the case file.
As for the news that the police were involved, he has ordered an investigation into every aspect. If it is found that it is wrong, legal procedures must be followed, including disciplinary action. However, the investigation must be fair. If it is clearly wrong, action must be taken, no different from others. However, if the police officer in question is like a victim in this cycle, justice must be given to the police as well. Because there may be many coaches who are involved but did not intend to commit wrongdoing or were aware of the wrongdoing or deceive, justice must be given to all parties.
The national police chief said that he was satisfied with the overall work. Only 2-3 days after setting up a complaint center at the Central Investigation Bureau, investigators and police officers were mobilized to handle the case in order to build public confidence in the police’s work. The case has made significant progress. He has instructed th
e integration of relevant agencies, including the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB), the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), especially in terms of inspection and seizure of assets. They must coordinate and work closely with the AMLO.
At the same time, he also emphasized the facilitation of legal proceedings for the victims, which Pol. Lt. Gen. Akkaradech has already sent out radio orders for police nationwide to accept complaints from victims, regardless of where they are reported. He would like to inform victims that if they have suffered damage, they are requested to come and file additional complaints. They can file complaints through 3 channels:
1. Come and file a complaint in person at the ‘Complaint Center, Consumer Protection Police Division or PCD’, 2nd floor, Pracharak Building, Central Investigation Bureau.
2. File a complaint at any police station.
3. File a complaint online at www.thaipoliceonline.go.th.
I would like to confirm
that the police will integrate with relevant agencies as ordered by the government, which has ordered the police to follow closely in order to set a standard for solving problems in various cases and to handle cases straightforwardly based on evidence. If anyone is involved, we will take decisive action. Please give the police time to work. It is expected that the case will be concluded for sure soon.
