Top Leader Urges Stronger Vietnam-Sri Lanka Economic Connectivity

Colombo: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam has stressed the need for Vietnam and Sri Lanka to foster economic connections while attending the Vietnam-Sri Lanka Trade, Investment and Tourism Cooperation Forum in Colombo on May 8 (local time).

According to Vietnam News Agency, the event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDC). It saw the participation of Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, leaders of ministries and agencies, and a large number of businesses from both countries.

The forum aimed to enhance trade relations and promote investment opportunities between Vietnam and Sri Lanka. Both countries are looking to leverage their strengths to create mutually beneficial economic partnerships. The involvement of various business entities highlights the potential for increased collaboration in sectors such as trade, investment, and tourism.
