Hanoi: National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on June 3 highlighted the importance of provisions aimed at ensuring a smooth transfer of responsibilities and case files, without affecting the rights and interests of organisations and individuals, when the NA Standing Committee discussed a draft Law on the amendment and supplementation to several articles of the Law on the Organisation of People’s Courts, as part of its ongoing 46th session.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the discussions were part of efforts to improve the judicial system and ensure that the jurisdiction of regional People’s Courts is clearly defined. The proposed amendments are expected to enhance the efficiency of court operations and safeguard the legal rights of all parties involved.
Chairman Man emphasized that clarity in jurisdiction is essential for maintaining public trust in the judicial process. The amendments aim to streamline processes, reduce delays, and prevent jurisdictional conflicts that could lead to legal uncertainties or infringe on individuals’ rights.
The session also focused on the importance of ensuring that the amendments do not disrupt the current legal frameworks but rather build on them to improve the overall functioning of the courts. The National Assembly is committed to making these changes in a manner that supports the rule of law and upholds justice for all citizens.
The discussions are ongoing, with further consultations expected to refine the provisions before they are finalized and implemented. The National Assembly continues to prioritize legal reforms as a key component of its legislative agenda.
