Hanoi: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, was presented with Russia's Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize in recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening international peace and cooperation among nations. The award ceremony was held in Moscow on September 9 on the occasion of his State visit to Russia from September 7. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin along with many other senior leaders from both countries attended the ceremony. According to Vietnam News Agency, the prestigious award honors individuals who have made significant efforts in promoting peace and fostering harmonious relations between countries. To Lam's dedication to international cooperation and his role in enhancing Vietnam's diplomatic relations with Russia were key factors in his selection for this accolade. The event underscored the strong ties between Vietnam and Russia, as both nations continue to collaborate on various fronts, including economic and cultural exchanges.
