‘Tour Yeu Nuoc’: Touching Hanoi’s Memories of a Bygone Era

Hanoi: This National Day holiday (September 2), residents and visitors to Hanoi have the opportunity to journey back in time through 'Tour Yeu nuoc: Cham vao ky uc mot thoi' (Patriotic Tour: Touching memories of a bygone era). The tour allows visitors to witness Hanoi during the 1970s and 1980s by exploring the settings, artifacts, and immersive experiences of the 'Subsidy Era' at the Hanoi Memories Cultural Space (located at 11A Ngu Xa, Ba Dinh Ward). Through everyday stories, the program helps different generations-especially young people-gain a deeper understanding of that challenging period and the nation-building efforts of their forebears, while also creating a new experiential tourism product centered on Hanoi's memories. According to Vietnam News Agency, the tour is a unique opportunity for both locals and tourists to connect with the city's rich history and cultural heritage. By showcasing personal stories and authentic experiences from the 'Subsidy Era,' the initiative aims to foster a sense of pri de and appreciation for the resilience demonstrated by previous generations. The event not only serves as an educational journey but also as an engaging way to preserve and celebrate Hanoi's historical identity.
