Unique Cultural Space at Kermises in Western Nghe An

Hanoi: The western region of the central province of Nghe An is home to a number of famous highland and border periodical markets such as Muong Qua (Mon Son commune), Muong Chon (Binh Chuan commune), Tri Le (Tri Le commune), Nga My (Nga My commune), and Nhon Mai (Nhon Mai commune). These venues serve not only as trading hubs but also as vibrant and distinctive cultural spaces featuring the customs, traditions, and unique identities of the Thai, Dan Lai, Kho Mu, and O Du ethnic minority groups. According to Vietnam News Agency, today, restoring and promoting the value of such kermises help not only foster community cohesion but also preserve cultural heritages in harmony with developing tourism and creating sustainable livelihoods for highland residents.
