Hanoi: The United Overseas Bank (UOB) Vietnam initiated the construction of UOB Plaza Ho Chi Minh City on July 1, marking a significant investment of approximately 450 million USD. The development stands out as the first headquarters specifically constructed and owned by a foreign bank within the Vietnam International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC).

According to Vietnam News Agency, this ambitious project features a 36-story tower that will soar to a height of about 160 meters. Covering an area of 4,571 square meters at No. 2 Ton Duc Thang Street in the Ba Son area, the building is designed to meet Grade A office standards and aims to achieve the BCA Green Mark certification. The completion of UOB Plaza Ho Chi Minh City is projected for 2030.

This development represents a strategic milestone in UOB's long-term growth agenda in Vietnam. The bank views Vietnam as a crucial market within the ASEAN region, and the new headquarters underscores its commitment to expanding its presence in this market.
