Hanoi: Vietnam always supports India in promoting its increasingly important role on the international stage, including as the host of BRICS in 2026, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung told visiting Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita in Hanoi on August 26. Margherita is in Vietnam to attend activities marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the two countries' Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2016-2026).
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting between the two officials highlights the commitment of both nations to deepen their Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This partnership, which began in 2016, focuses on mutual cooperation across various sectors including economic, defense, and cultural exchanges. The visit by Minister Margherita underscores India's intent to strengthen bilateral ties with Vietnam, especially as both countries prepare to celebrate a decade of strategic partnership.
