Vientiane:Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang met with his Lao counterpart Gen. Khamlieng Outhakaysone on October 8.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting took place during Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's official visit to Laos. This visit is significant as it is PM Hung's first official overseas trip since assuming office, highlighting the importance Vietnam places on its relationship with Laos.

The discussions between the two generals focused on deepening strategic cohesion in defense ties, reflecting a mutual commitment to enhancing their nations' cooperation in this area.
