Vietnam and Laos Solidify Ties Through Border Defence Exchange

Hanoi: A series of activities focusing on the political, defence, and humanitarian facets of the third Vietnam-Laos Border Defence Friendship Exchange were held on July 9 at the Nam Can (Nghe An, Vietnam) - Nam On (Bolikhamsai, Laos) international border gate, reinforcing the two nations' unique friendship and mutual dedication to creating a border characterized by peace, cooperation, and development. The high-level delegations from Vietnam and Laos were led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang and his Lao counterpart General Khamliang Outhakaysone, respectively.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the event underscored the longstanding camaraderie between Vietnam and Laos, with both sides expressing strong commitments to enhancing their bilateral relations. The exchange included a variety of activities aimed at fostering collaboration and understanding, emphasizing the importance of mutual support in political, defence, and humanitarian efforts.
