Kon Tum: Vietnam’s Kon Tum province and Laos’ Attapeu province have reached an agreement to upgrade the Dak Long-Vang Tat auxiliary border gates to main border gates. A memorandum of understanding was signed by Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum, Y Ngoc, and Deputy Governor of Attapeu province, Thanuvong Bansalit, during their talks in Kon Tum.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this agreement is part of a strategic effort to improve border connectivity between the two provinces. Currently, Kon Tum province’s border with Laos includes three border gates: the Bo Y-Phu Cua international border gate and the two auxiliary gates of Dak Long-Vang Tat and Dak Blo-Dak Bar. The upgrade of the Dak Long-Vang Tat gate is anticipated to facilitate better trade and interaction across the border.
