Vietnam Becomes Brazil’s 2nd Largest Aquatic Product Supplier

Hanoi: Vietnam became the second-largest supplier of aquatic products to Brazil in 2024, accounting for 17.33% of the South American country’s total import volume and 8.69% of its total import value, said the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Last year, Vietnam’s shipments to Brazil surged by 53.8% in volume and 38.6% in value, reaching 50,500 tonnes and $136.6 million, respectively.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this significant increase highlights Vietnam’s growing role in the global aquatic product market. The rise in export volume and value reflects the strengthening trade relations between Vietnam and Brazil, as well as Vietnam’s expanding capabilities in aquatic product production and exportation. The growth in exports has positioned Vietnam as a key player in meeting Brazil’s demand for aquatic products.
