Dong nai: Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung has hailed the opening of the US-based Coherent Corporation’s new plant in Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park in the southern province of Dong Nai as a pivotal step in cementing Vietnam’s role in the global hi-tech value chain. The 127-million-USD facility, inaugurated on July 28, is set to produce silicon carbide semiconductors, optical glass, and equipment.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this development underscores Vietnam’s growing commitment to expanding its technological infrastructure and capabilities. The new facility is expected to enhance the country’s competitive edge in the semiconductor and optical glass industries, sectors that are crucial in the global market. This move is seen as a significant opportunity for Vietnam to attract more international investments and partnerships, propelling the nation further into the high-tech manufacturing sphere.
