Vietnam Chairs Roundtable on Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy

New york: Vietnam chaired a roundtable discussion at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York on April 29, in conjunction with the 11th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

According to Vietnam News Agency, the focus of the discussion was on the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The roundtable brought together representatives from various UN member states to deliberate on strategies for harnessing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, while ensuring compliance with the NPT.

The participants engaged in dialogue about the importance of international cooperation in nuclear energy development and the role of nuclear energy in addressing global energy needs. Discussions also touched upon the need for maintaining transparency and safety in nuclear energy projects to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

The roundtable served as a platform for countries to exchange views on best practices and innovations in nuclear energy, with an emphasis on sustainable development and minimizing environmental impact.
