Vietnam Engages in UN Women Executive Board Annual Session

New york: Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, praised the significant achievements of the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) during his address at the annual session of the UN Women Executive Board in New York. He highlighted the organization's accomplishments in a challenging international environment and expressed gratitude for its ongoing activities and support in Vietnam. The session, held from June 23-25, focused on reviewing and discussing the annual report of the organization, assessing the implementation of the 2022-2025 strategic plan, and initiating the rollout of UN Women's 2026-2029 strategic plan.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the session provided a platform for member states to engage in discussions on gender equality and women's empowerment, emphasizing the importance of strategic planning in addressing these issues globally. Ambassador Do Hung Viet's participation underscored Vietnam's commitment to these goals and its collaboration with UN Women in advancing gender equality initiatives.
