Hanoi:General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, along with his spouse, hosted an official welcome ceremony at the National Assembly House for Swiss President Guy Parmelin and his spouse. This event, held on the afternoon of October 17, marked the beginning of President Parmelin's two-day official visit to Vietnam.

According to Vietnam News Agency, after the welcome ceremony, the leaders engaged in talks with their respective high-level delegations. The discussions were followed by the witnessing of the exchange of cooperation documents between ministries and agencies of the two countries.
