Vietnam People’s Army Constructs Over 17,000 Homes for Disadvantaged Families

Hanoi: The Vietnam People’s Army has successfully supported the construction or repair of 17,027 homes for disadvantaged families nationwide, aligning with the Government’s social security objectives. This initiative was launched following a directive from the Prime Minister, showcasing the military’s commitment to social welfare.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the army’s involvement in the campaign has been substantial, with more than 86,000 personnel deployed, over 2,000 vehicles utilized, and nearly 300,000 workdays dedicated to assisting families in need. The effort has been backed by a significant amount of funding, with the total financial allocation for these construction and repair projects surpassing 895.2 billion VND, which is approximately 34.3 million USD.

This initiative underscores the Vietnam People’s Army’s dedication to supporting national social security goals by improving living conditions for disadvantaged citizens, reinforcing the army’s role beyond traditional defense duties.
