Hanoi: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan paid a working trip to Abuja, capital of Nigeria, from June 29-30 to deepen Vietnam's ties with West African nations. During the trip, Tuan held talks with Permanent Secretary of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dunoma Umar Ahmed, sat down with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sola Enikanolaiye and Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment Chris Osa Isokpunwu, visited the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) headquarters, and held working session with President of the ECOWAS Commission Omar Alieu Touray.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meetings focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Vietnam and the West African nations. The discussions highlighted opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, and shared development goals. Tuan's visit to the ECOWAS headquarters and his engagement with regional leaders underscored Vietnam's commitment to building cooperative ties with West Africa.
