Vietnam Seeks Global Expertise to Develop Cryptocurrency Market: Deputy PM

Vietnam: Vietnam is seeking international expertise and cooperation to support the development of its pilot cryptocurrency market, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang told Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit - one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges based in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During his reception for Zhou in Hanoi on June 4, Deputy PM Thang revealed that the Government has issued Resolution No. 05/2025/NQ-CP on piloting a cryptocurrency market, marking an important step toward establishing a transparent and regulated framework for digital assets.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting between Deputy PM Thang and Zhou signifies Vietnam's commitment to embracing digital currency advancements while ensuring that the associated risks are managed through global cooperation. The resolution aims to create a conducive environment for cryptocurrency innovation while safeguarding the interests of investors and maintaining financial stability in the country.

Deputy PM Thang emphasized the importance of leveraging international expertise to guide Vietnam in building an effective and secure cryptocurrency market. By engaging with leading figures in the digital asset industry, Vietnam hopes to draw on their experience to craft policies that will encourage growth and innovation within the sector.

The collaboration between Vietnam and Bybit is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange and provide insights into best practices for cryptocurrency market regulation. This initiative is part of Vietnam's broader strategy to integrate digital technologies into its financial system, positioning the country as a competitive player in the global fintech landscape.
