Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung received Gianluca Pettiti, President and Chief Operating Officer of US-based Thermo Fisher Scientific, in Hanoi on August 12 to discuss Vietnam's priorities in developing its science, technology and innovation ecosystem.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on exploring avenues for collaboration between Vietnam and Thermo Fisher Scientific, particularly in the fields of semiconductors and biomedical sciences. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these sectors in Vietnam's economic and technological growth, and expressed his desire to strengthen ties with US partners to enhance Vietnam's capabilities and infrastructure in these areas.
Gianluca Pettiti acknowledged Vietnam's potential as a growing hub for technological innovation and praised the government's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for scientific advancements.
