Vietnam Sees Double-Digit Growth in Air Transport During National Holiday

Astana: The air transport sector recorded significant double-digit growth during the April 30-May 1 holiday, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). From April 29 to May 4, airports nationwide handled over 12,610 flights, marking a 19.45% increase compared to the same period last year. Passenger traffic exceeded 2.09 million, while cargo throughput reached 23,360 tonnes, representing year-on-year increases of 25.83% and 18.57%, respectively. On average, airports across the country operated over 2,000 flights per day during the period, serving more than 340,000 passengers and processing around 3,800 tonnes of cargo daily.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the spike in air transport activity during the holiday period underscores the growing demand for both passenger and cargo services in Vietnam. The data highlights a robust recovery in the aviation sector, which has been steadily gaining momentum. The increase in flights and passenger numbers reflects a positive trend in domestic and inte
rnational travel, boosted by improved economic conditions and a rise in consumer confidence.

The CAAV attributes the growth to several factors, including the easing of travel restrictions and enhanced connectivity between major cities. The increase in cargo throughput also signals a strengthening in trade activities, as more businesses are turning to air transport for their logistics needs. This growth trajectory bodes well for the aviation industry in Vietnam, as it continues to adapt and expand in response to evolving market demands.
