Vietnam Sees Surge in International Tourist Arrivals, Reaching 14.1 Million in 10 Months.

Vietnam: Vietnam welcomed more than 14.1 million international tourists in the first 10 months of 2024, marking a 41.3% increase compared to the previous year, according to the latest report from the General Statistics Office (GSO). Of this total, nearly 12 million visitors arrived by air, representing 84.8% of the total arrivals and a 36.9% increase year-on-year.

According to Vietnam News Agency, almost 2 million tourists entered Vietnam by road, marking a 13.9% rise and a 65.7% increase in comparison to the previous year. Asian markets were particularly significant, contributing nearly 80% of the total arrivals. Notably, four markets-the Republic of Korea, China, Taiwan (China), and Japan-accounted for nearly 60% of the total international visitors.

In terms of economic impact, tourism revenues for the first ten months of the year reached 690 trillion VND, equivalent to 27.18 billion USD, highlighting the sector’s substantial contribution to Vietnam’s economy.
