Hanoi: More than 100 young overseas Vietnamese (OVs) from 32 countries and territories took part in a series of meaningful activities in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa on July 23 as part of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2026. The participants paid tribute at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Site and visited the Vietnam Naval Academy. During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the academy's leadership, toured its traditional hall, got updates on Vietnam's seas and islands, and presented gifts to the academy's cadets.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the summer camp aimed to strengthen the connection between young OVs and their homeland. The event provided an opportunity for the participants to learn more about Vietnam's history, culture, and national values. Through these activities, the organizers hoped to instill a sense of pride and responsibility among the youths towards their heritage and to encourage them to contribute to the development of Vietnam in the future.

The Vietnam Summer Camp is an annual event that brings together young OVs from around the world. It is organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This year's camp focused on fostering a deeper understanding of Vietnam's maritime sovereignty, as well as promoting cultural exchange and camaraderie among the participants.
