Vietnam Targets 25 Million International Visitors for 2026

Hanoi: The tourism sector has set an ambitious target of attracting 25 million foreign arrivals in 2026. The target is based on the strong recovery in 2025, when Vietnam welcomed 21.5 million international visitors, serving 135.5 million domestic tourists, and generating total tourism revenue exceeding 1 quadrillion VND (38 billion USD). In 2026, the sector also aims to serve 150 million domestic tourists, and earn some 1.12 quadrillion VND in revenue. According to Vietnam News Agency, the tourism industry in Vietnam continues to focus on expanding its reach and enhancing its offerings to meet the projected goals. The increase in both international and domestic tourists is expected to significantly contribute to the national economy. Efforts to achieve these targets include improving infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and promoting Vietnam as a preferred tourist destination globally. The government and stakeholders in the tourism sector are collaborating on several initiatives aimed at boosting the industry's appeal to international travelers. The 2025 recovery has been a positive indicator, showing potential for sustained growth. With strategic planning and investment, the tourism sector is optimistic about reaching its goals for 2026, contributing substantially to Vietnam's economic development.
