Ho chi minh city: The Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City collaborated with the Vietnamese Red Cross Society (VRCS)’s HCM City chapter and the Red Journey Programme to initiate a humanitarian blood donation drive on July 20. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to bolster bilateral relations between Vietnam and Thailand through community-focused activities.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the Red Journey Programme, alongside the VRCS and the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, has been working with the Thai Consulate General to organize these blood donation events on a biannual basis, in July and December. These events are aimed at fostering greater cooperation and goodwill between the two nations, leveraging shared humanitarian goals to enhance diplomatic ties.
The collaboration underscores the commitment of both countries to address critical health needs while also strengthening their diplomatic and social connections. By consistently partnering for these blood donation drives, Vietnam and Thailand are setting a precedent for how countries can work together to meet societal challenges and improve public health outcomes.
