Hanoi: Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung on May 21 led a Vietnamese delegation to an expanded informal online consultation meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers to prepare for the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit. The event was chaired by Philippine Foreign Secretary Theresa P. Lazaro, Chair of ASEAN 2026.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting served as a platform for ASEAN member states to discuss and coordinate strategies to ensure the success of the upcoming summit. Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized Vietnam's commitment to actively contributing to the summit's objectives and enhancing the cooperative relationship between ASEAN and Russia.

The Vietnamese delegation highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts among ASEAN nations to address regional challenges and promote peace and stability. The ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit is seen as an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore new areas of cooperation between Southeast Asian countries and Russia.
