Beijing: The Vietnamese Embassy in China, acting as the rotating chair of the ASEAN Committee in Beijing (ACB), organized a ceremony on August 13 to commemorate the 59th anniversary of ASEAN. The event saw the participation of ambassadors and representatives from ASEAN member states, along with the ASEAN-China Centre. Additionally, the ASEAN embassies in Beijing took the opportunity to welcome the newly appointed Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre, Zhang Lizhong.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the ceremony highlighted the importance of unity and centrality within ASEAN, as well as the strengthening of the relationship between ASEAN countries and China. The presence of Zhang Lizhong at the event underscored the commitment to fostering closer ties and cooperation between ASEAN and the ASEAN-China Centre.
