Washington: The US has agreed to initiate negotiations on a reciprocal trade agreement with Vietnam. This development follows a proposal by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc during his meeting with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on April 9. Phoc, visiting the US as a special envoy of Party General Secretary To Lam, emphasized Vietnam’s intention to enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the US.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Phoc’s visit to the US included meetings with Senators Bill Hagerty and Steve Daines, alongside discussions with various US organizations and businesses. During his stay, Phoc engaged with numerous experts, scholars, and major enterprises from both the US and Vietnam. He also attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Vietnam’s Vietjet and Air Finance of the US.
