Hanoi: Vietnam welcomed 13.9 million international visitors in the first seven months of 2026, up 13.8% year-on-year, achieving about 56% of this year's target of 25 million foreign arrivals, reported the National Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance. The country received 1.67 million international visitors in July alone, an increase of 6.6% compared with the same month last year.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the significant increase in foreign visitors reflects the growing appeal of Vietnam as a travel destination. The steady rise in tourism is attributed to the country's efforts in promoting its cultural heritage and natural landscapes, alongside improvements in infrastructure and hospitality services.
The report highlights the government's strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing tourism facilities and services to attract more international tourists. These efforts are expected to contribute significantly to the national economy, providing a boost to local businesses and creating employment opportunities.
The Ministry of Finance remains optimistic about reaching the annual target of 25 million foreign arrivals by the end of the year. With continued efforts in marketing and infrastructure development, Vietnam aims to further establish itself as a leading travel destination in the region.
