Hanoi: The Vietnam Administration of Forest launched the ‘Vietnam Wood’ certification mark at a conference held in Hanoi on December 22, marking a major step in building a unified identity and strengthening the credibility of Vietnam’s wood industry in domestic and international markets. Vietnam currently ranks fifth worldwide and second in Asia in wood and forestry product exports, with turnover reaching 17.35 billion USD in 2024 and projected at 18 billion USD in 2025. However, the lack of a national certification mark has limited brand recognition and value.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the introduction of the ‘Vietnam Wood’ certification mark aims to address the challenges of brand recognition by providing a standardized symbol of quality for the industry. This initiative is expected to bolster Vietnam’s position in the global market and enhance the value of its wood and forestry products. The mark is anticipated to serve as a guarantee of sustainable and verified sources, potentially opening new opportunities for exporters and strengthening consumer trust.
