Vietnamese Community in Laos Optimistic About CPV’s Development Plans

Vientiane: Ahead of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the Vietnamese community in Laos has expressed strong confidence, high expectations, and recommendations regarding the country's development orientations in the new phase, particularly the promotion of the role, intellect, and resources of overseas Vietnamese (OV) communities. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, Chief of the Office of the Association of Vietnamese People in Vientiane, said that for OV intellectuals to return and contribute effectively and sustainably to the Fatherland, it is not enough to rely on calls for participation or incentive policies alone. The core issue, she stressed, lies in building transparent working mechanisms, clearly defining authority, and assigning specific responsibilities.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the upcoming congress is a pivotal moment for Vietnam, with the potential to shape the country's future direction significantly. The Vietnamese community in Laos is particularly focused on how the CPV will address the involvement of OV communities, emphasizing the importance of creating an environment that fosters active contribution from overseas intellectuals. The community believes that clear and accountable systems are crucial for maximizing the potential of these resources.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen highlighted that while incentive policies are important, they need to be complemented by a framework that allows overseas Vietnamese to engage meaningfully in national development. The call for transparent processes and defined roles is seen as a necessary step to ensure that the contributions of OV communities are both effective and sustainable. The community remains hopeful that the CPV's new phase of development will include these considerations, ultimately benefiting the nation as a whole.
