Vietnamese Embassy in Laos Pays Tribute to Fallen Combatants

Vientiane: A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos held an incense-offering ceremony to honour war heroes and martyrs at the Lao – Vietnam Combatant Alliance relic site in Keun village of Thulakhom district, Vientiane province, on December 21. The ceremony was organised to mark the 81st founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944-2025) and the 36th anniversary of the All-People National Defence Day (December 22, 1989-2025). The delegation, led by Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam, included representatives of Vietnamese agencies in Laos.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the ceremony served as a reminder of the historical ties and sacrifices shared by Vietnam and Laos. The event emphasized the importance of remembering and honouring those who have contributed to the countries’ shared history, particularly in the context of military cooperation and solidarity.

The event was attended by various embassy officials, reflecting the ongoing commitment to maintaining and strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two nations. The incense-offering ceremony is part of a broader initiative to commemorate significant historical events and foster a spirit of unity and remembrance.
