Ho Chi Minh City: The Party and State of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic organized a ceremonial event in Ho Chi Minh City on April 29 to honor both current and former high-ranking leaders of Vietnam with prestigious decorations. This significant occasion was marked by the presence of State President Luong Cuong and Thongloun Sisoulith, the General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos. The ceremony was part of the larger celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of Vietnam, which occurred on April 30, 1975.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the event underscored the strong ties between Vietnam and Laos, highlighting the ongoing cooperation and friendship between the two neighboring countries. The high-level Lao delegation led by President Thongloun Sisoulith participated in this momentous occasion, reinforcing the historical bond shared by the nations as they celebrated Vietnam’s significant milestone.
