Hanoi: The Ministry of National Defence held a ceremony in Hanoi on July 22 to present decisions of the State President and the Minister of National Defence to three officers who are about to depart for duties at the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission in Abyei.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the deployment of these officers is part of Vietnam’s ongoing commitment to international peacekeeping efforts and its contributions to global peace and security. The officers are preparing to undertake their new roles in Abyei, a region that requires significant peacekeeping support.
The ceremony, which was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of National Defence, marks another step in Vietnam’s active participation in UN peacekeeping missions, highlighting the country’s dedication to supporting international initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
