Hanoi: Vietnam’s agricultural sector is aiming for export revenue of 73-74 billion USD by 2026, but increasingly severe weather conditions linked to the El Ni±o phenomenon are expected to pose significant challenges in the second half of the year. Agro-forestry-fishery exports are projected to reach 30.69 billion USD by the end of June, reflecting an increase of 9.2% compared to the previous year.
According to Vietnam News Agency, several key sectors are experiencing growth, with fisheries rising by 10.6%, forestry products increasing by 4.5%, and livestock products seeing a rise of 43.2%. These figures highlight the potential for substantial contributions to the country’s export revenue goals. However, the sector must navigate the impacts of changing climate conditions, which could affect production and export capabilities in the coming months.
